Teleodynamic Learning is narrower than the phrase “self-regulating AI.” The source paper defines five commitments: two adaptive timescales, an endogenous resource, a local action objective, emergent structural halt, and diagnosable phase structure.
Use the commitments independently
A system should carry evidence for every commitment. A fixed model with a battery monitor may have a resource-aware scheduler, but no structural dynamics. A neural architecture search may change structure, but its budget can remain externally imposed. A timeout can halt work, but it is not a noop selected by the learning dynamics.
Engineering consequence
Build an event ledger that records parameter revisions, structural candidates, objective terms, resource changes, selected actions, and external guards. Without this record, the label cannot be tested.
